Directions: Continue up past the top of Main Street, where it turns into Daly Avenue. The road ends at a small parking area before a gate—park and walk up the dirt road from here.
A history-rich canyon right in the center of town, Daly is suitable for all ages and seasons and can be extended easily by exploring some of the many connecting trails. The wide dirt road runs parallel to a babbling creek for a while before reaching a water tower, which is under construction as of summer 2021. From this point you can take the narrow trail up the short, steep hill, or take a left and wind your way up the wider road—they both lead to the same place before long. Check out the old mining infrastructure, including the explosives vault and Judge Mine building. From the intersection at the mine building, the road heading up to your right is lined with a few old mining cottages (third photo below), and the road straight ahead leads to the base of Lady Morgan chairlift at Deer Valley, which is a great ending point. For a slightly longer trek, continue up past Lady Morgan all the way to the Montage hotel.
