Mount Aire ◼︎◼︎

Difficulty: More Difficult ◼︎◼︎

Length: 5 miles round trip

Elevation Gain: 2,200 feet

Dog Friendly: Yes

Trailhead coordinates (copy + paste): 40.7067, -111.6899

Directions: The coordinates will lead you right to the parking area at the trailhead. From there, follow the signs along the trail for Mount Aire, as there are other trails that sprout off every once in a while. Keep in mind that you may not have cell service in the canyon, but will get back into range at the peak.

My favorite hike in Millcreek Canyon, and a fairly quick (but steep) hike for the views it delivers. The first half of the Mount Aire trail is shaded and serene, and you may pass the occasional family of deer. The shade ends when you reach a saddle. From here on out, the trail is composed of exposed switchbacks which climb to the 8,600-foot summit. From the top, take in panoramic views of Parley's Canyon, Salt Lake City, and the Great Salt Lake. You might find yourself relaxing up there all afternoon.
