Dog Friendly: Yes

Trailhead coordinates (copy + paste): 40.7911, -111.8633

Directions: Park at the cul-de-sac where Terrace Hills Drive ends. The dirt road begins between two houses on the West side of the street. Note: This area allows for a bit of choose your own adventure hiking, so there is no need to follow these directions if you're up for some fun. Start out on the Terrace Trail, hiking up past the water tower and onto Valley View Ridge trail. About 0.2 miles past the tower, you can choose to continue heading uphill, or turn right to make it shorter. If you keep heading up, turn right once you reach the ridge and continue to the seven-way junction. Take the second trail on your right heading down, and another right after 0.5 miles to return to the Terrace Trail. This will bring you back down to the other side of the cul-de-sac.

Rising above The Avenues, these trails head in every direction and allow you to choose whatever difficulty and length you feel up for. The hills up here are covered in trails, and as long as you remember where you left the car, you'll make your way back eventually. No matter which way you choose to walk, the views over the Salt Lake Valley are incredible. From sunrise to sunset and winter to summer, you can always rely on this trail system for a quick escape from the city.
